Eligible Undergraduates and Graduates looking to register as volunteers should fill out the form: "Apply Now" or go to "Join GradPal" and fill out the application there to register as a volunteer.

GradPal aims to pair international students, especially from the Middle East, Asia, South America, and Africa, to academic support and mentorship. It is our mission to give students who wish to learn more about the US and UK educational system and academic culture a consistent student partner and ally during the academic term and, if necessary for the student, the application process to university.
When pairing a student, it is possible to pair them with multiple tutors and mentors depending on availability and the needs of all participants.
At GradPal we recognize that education is an enduring key to success. This program is designed to reach out to students currently in Middle School and High School (Ages 11-17) abroad in areas that have deep reservoirs of talent but lack strong ties to the American university system. Please note that the application does not prioritize students of any particular country, race, ethnicity, religion, etc. Each completed and submitted application will be reviewed holistically in order to ensure that the right type of student is receiving adequate support and engagement.
Students looking to develop ties with American private school and university students may apply via the application form above. If their application is successful, they will join that year's cohort. Individual cohort sizes will be determined by the availability of volunteer tutors and mentors, as well as the needs of the cohort members. Once paired, students will meet with their mentor(s) on a regular basis to discuss academic progress, to meet for mentorship or lessons, and to prepare for the student's next steps.
GradPal's International Student Mentorship Program is devoted to creating ways to "bridge the gap" between students in the US and students in the rest of the world. By only recruiting from selective secondary schools in the US, we aim to create a strong network of well informed future leaders who have both the capabilities and know-how required to serve as both a mentor and ally to international students interested in the US and the US educational system. Ultimately we aim to reduce the barriers between American and international youth while providing an experience that tutors and mentors can highlight in their applications and carry with them as they represent their schools and the West on a global stage.
GradPal aims to pair the international students with appropriately suited private school and university students according to the responses of both. We aim to craft partnerships and teams around the international students to best reflect the needs and expectations of both parties so that international students have an accessible place to start when they have questions to be answered (such as with academic support, general life in the west, and college applications). Ultimately we hope to invest in international networks and create an ecosystem where mutually beneficial relationships between future leaders internationally and future leaders in the US and UK grow, prosper, and can be relied on well into the future.
Within the application for our tutors and mentors we allow you to specify how engaged you want to be. At a minimum we aim for you to serve as a general resource for advice and guidance regarding the West and the American educational system. For those of you who choose to be more actively involved, we expect weekly check-in and engagement, as well as a good-faith effort to support your international student partner when they have questions or request your support. It will be these personal relations, in addition to the impact they have created, that mentors can discuss in their college application essays and use to approach the world in a more interconnected way.
The GradPal program only accepts applications from students aged 11-17 years old and between 5th and 12th grade.
